Auction is a wonderful way to obtain items that meant a lot to someone that plenty of people around the world loved and held in high regard. In past years people have been able to own the personal items of superstars like Elvis or Michael Jackson as a way to have a little of their lives to have and to hold. This is called auction memorabilia.

Just recently the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin passed away at the age of 76 more than 30 dresses and accessories worn on stage by her are going up for auction.

The items will go on display between Nov. 5 and Nov. 9. at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York and the auction will take place in person and online on Nov. 10 as part of a two-day Icons & Idols: Rock-N-Roll at the Hard Rock.

People are willing to pay big bucks to augment memories of an idol with items that were dear to them or to sell at a later date when the price has become even higher  with the passage of time.

If you could have something that belonged to an idol of yours, how much would you be willing to pay for that privilege?
