Did you know facts about Zambia.

The territory of what is now Zambia was known as Northern Rhodesia from 1911. It was renamed Zambia at independence in 1964. The new name of Zambia was derived from the Zambezi river (Zambezi may mean “River of God”).

DID YOU KNOW? THE ENTIRE ROMAN EMPIRE WAS PUT UP FOR AUCTION (SERIOUSLY!)

auction sold

Who doesn’t like big auctions? Think about the massive Hammer and Tongues auctions we’ve conducted here in Lusaka .

You would have loved the one that happened in 193 A.D. The entire Roman Empire was put on the auction block by the Praetorian Guard. Lifting the catalogue alone would have given you a double hernia. On March 23, The Praetorian Guard first killed emperor Pertinax, then offered the empire to the highest bidder. Didius Julianus outbid everyone else for the price of 6,250 drachmas per guard.
